Boxers exude toughness and carry themselves with an air of confidence few other breeds display. So, it is somewhat surprising that they are attached to their humans, but attached they are. No bother, as they love to play and show off their strength while being alert, aware and ruggedly handsome. Boxers are the ideal canine companion for families.





THAI RIDGEBACK

Temperament: Loyal, Loving, Familial

The Ridgeback is a "People Dog" and wants to be at his owner's side. He is often called a "Velcro dog." He is an affectionate dog who needs the human companionship of his owner, yet is quite aloof with strangers. He responds to positive training methods.





CHINESE SHAR-PEI

Temperament: Suspicious, Loving, Devoted

Temperament wise, they will be very loyal and attached to you, but they are not lapdogs. Their method of cuddling is basically sitting in your vicinity with their back to you. But they do enjoy being in the company of their people.





SHETLAND SHEEPDOG

If you mistook this little fellow for Lassie that is OK. Shelties are the smaller cousin of collies. They are wonderful companions who look spectacular in a full and well-groomed coat. Shelties will do whatever you ask if properly trained and are seriously protective of their clan. They are so accommodating and loyal that, while they love play and exercise, they will seamlessly adapt to the lifestyle of their humans. This Scottish herder kept livestock in line on the Shetland Islands, but is happy to keep an eye on you wherever you go. A true Velcro dog, the Sheltie is an excitable pup who intensely loves their family. They can be noisy though, and have been known to nip at objects and children, as if herding them too!





DOBERMAN PINSCHER

Temperament: Loyal, Fearless, Alert

The statuesque Doberman is a canine of great intelligence and physical prowess, earning it nobility status in dogdom. And their fearless approach to the world makes this breed one of the most loyal and protective out there. POMERANIAN

The quintessential lap dogs, Pomeranians have a reputation for being extra snuggly and "extra" in general. Beloved by Queen Victoria, the foxy breed has a pampered pedigree.
